We went through two years of darkness, so this is a refreshingly welcome change.” Hameed’s comments exemplify the majority of answers we collected from nearly 1,000 GMs. Not only is optimism high, but the numbers support success. With stronger fundamentals in play, GMs are focusing on their staff and their own professional development. Through it all, job satisfaction is higher than ever. This year’s expanded GM Special Report includes survey results that show what makes GMs tick, what keeps them up at night and what they’re spending their money on. It also debuts Hotel Management’s class of 25 GMs to Watch. Voice of the GM Survey starts on page 26. Nominated via an online campaign, the inaugural class of 25 GMs to Watch showcases outstanding leaders from all segments. See page 38 ■ ➔ TRENDS & STATS. Travel is back inside this issue TECHNOLOGY.
